The first four weeks of the hexie flower sew-a-long have gone by SO fast and I have been having so much fun. I cannot believe how many people have been participating. It’s crazy.
Now that four weeks have gone by I am writing this blog post for anyone who doesn’t have an Instagram or who is late to the party. I will continue writing a blog post in four week increments as we go a long. The original post about the hexie flower SAL can be found here.
Hexie Flower SAL Themes:
- Sky
- Food & Drink
- Summer
- Vacation
Happy sewing!
I would love to join the Sew Along. I have been watching Ann Bates on YouTube and she looks like she is have a great time. She said we can start any time – it is not too late?
I love to quilt and really enjoy wool applique. With the corona virus and the forest fires. I have been doing a lot of handwork. The hexis will be something new 🙂

It is never too late to start! Go for it! Handwork is the best and I am glad it is helping you through this time. Stay safe.
Are you going to do more of the hexi I have done 1-4 looking forward to doing more
Yes! There are going to be 50 weeks. The theme is posted weekly on Instagram. Every four weeks I recap the themes on the blog.
If we are not doing instagram, how is another way of following along with your weekly ideas for the center of the hexies. I have purchased all of my supplies and want to follow along. I have watched Quilt Roadies and she is enjoying making these blocks. Please help with alternative ways to get your ideas on centers.
The idea (theme) can actually be for the center, the outside, or the while hexie flower. I have an Instagram post weekly and a blog post recap every four weeks. If you do not want to do Instagram, you can always follow along with the SAL using the blog. I have been considering doing an emailed newsletter, but I wasn’t sure if there would be an interest. Would you potentially be interested in that?
