Let’s talk about the cheapest way to mail your hexie swaps – especially since USPS just raised prices.
Supplies
- Hexies ready to mail
- Envelope (small one works)
- Letter or cardstock
- Masking or painters tape
- you do NOT want to use scotch or packing tape, it will stick and not want to come off
- 2 stamps (per swap mailer)
How to
- Baste your hexies
- Collect all your supplies
- Lay your hexies out in rows according to the guidelines below
- You want overlap, but not too much or the tape wont stick to them
- You only need a little bit of the letter (or cardstock) to not be covered on both sides (see picture below)
- Cut a piece of tape at least two inches longer than whatever you taped your hexies to on both sides
- Tape the hexies down – wrap the tape around whatever you taped the hexies too on both sides.
- Make sure the envelope is really closed (might be the time to bring out that packing tape)
- Put TWO stamps on it. You need to use more than one stamp.
I hope this helps you mail and swap hexies to get the cutest hexie quilt ever!
